Sweet Memories

Hi there lovely ladies,
This beautiful posey of sweet peas was given to me by my youngest daughter on Thursday afternoon. They were proudly grown & maintained by the children in my daughters class in the schools Eco Garden.
They smell lovely.....exactly the same as the ones my Grandmother used to grow at her home when I was a child.

The sweet fragrence of sweet peas is one I will always remember, along with the memories of them growing up the side wall of her garage.
I love how certain smells can evoke memories & take you right back to a particular time or event in your life.
I wonder what will be that sweet fragrence that my kids remember me by?
~Sarah~

P.S: I am loving the new look of blogger, doing a post has never been so easy!

13 friends have left me a note. Thank You.:

Hi Sarah love those sweet peas. We are getting some rain tonight but not neally enough. The tanks are almost empty and we are on the verge of buying water which is not a very nice thought. Hope its a lot greener down your way. Have a good weekend Sandy x

Hi Sarah,

I've been following your blog, and enjoyed your post very much today. I too love sweet peas, probably because it was the very first flower I grew when I was a little girl.

It's very refreshing to see a pretty bouquet of flowers from your home, while I am typing and looking out the window at snow from mine. :)

Hi Sarah

I've sadly given up on planting anything much these days, at least I did have a lovely cottage garden for years, funny how circumstances change.
I too associate very happy memories with certain scents.
Isn't that a great scheme your daughter is doing - and lucky you get to enjoy the end results

happy weekend to you

Hi Sarah, Sweet Peas remind me of my late Mother-In-Law she grew them every year & aside from Roses they were her favourite flowers. Hope you had a great weekend.

Sweet peas certainly tak eme back to my childhood - they are so dainty. I wonder why we don't seem to grow them anymore? I'll have to look out for them next year at planting time.
